Introduction

European Union and National Cultures :

What do you need to work successfully in Europe ? How is Europe being constructed and what are the current issues ? What divides and unites Europeans ? The views of French, British, American and Argentinean commentators

Historic Chambéry : Your accommodation is located close to the historic center of Chambéry and the guided visit reveals the rich architectural heritage in the mediaeval streets.

Major Corporations : Caterpillar has a major production center here in Grenoble, T-FAL produces its non-stick frypans at its headquarters close to Annecy…

International Agencies : Our proximity to Geneva gives us the chance to visit some major international agencies. At the WTO we talk of globalisation and trade regulation. How are they responding to their anti-liberal critics ?

The French Alps : The summer is an ideal time to explore the Alps. A day out takes us to Chamonix and the Sea of Ice, with a cable car up Mont Blanc to the Aiguille du Midi viewpoint.

Much of this program is taught by professors who are business faculty. Many of the issues discussed have a direct relevance to business activities. For this reason the main credits are attributed to IBUS (International Business), 3 credits.

Furthermore, the program attracts significant numbers of business majors ; Chambéry is a Business School attached to the Savoie Chamber of Commerce.

There is an additional credit for the cultural and political elements of the course, SOCIAL SCIENCE, 1 credit.

Optional instruction in French is also provided for no extra cost, at low or intermediate level with 2 credits, FRENCH.
