Geneva and the WTO

The Chambéry sessions includes a trip to the city of Geneva and the headquarters of the World Trade Organisation. This day excursion allows you to walk around the historic city centre and the shops of Switzerland 's capital.

At the WTO our regular speaker, a trade counsellor, will give an update on the current trade negotiations, the Doha round.

This will give you clear insights into the confrontations taking place between developed and developing countries over trade liberalisation.

Multinational Companies

The program takes you to some of the largest international corporations present in France.

Caterpillar , the US firm, in one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction and mining equipment as well as diesels and gas turbine engines.

In Grenoble we visit the production facility where bulldozers are created using the latest steel-cutting laser technology.

Known as T-Fal in the US , Tefal is part of the French company TEFAL, based just north of Chambéry.

They manufacture a range of non-stick pans and household appliances and the visit includes a tour of their production line.
They are a typical French multinational, innovative and active in many different consumer markets around the world.
